We’re recruiting engineers to join our Global Technology team in Mexico City as we open our McDonald’s Global Office in Mexico. Our Mexico City Office will be a hub for technology innovation and operational support to help us build the solutions that will improve our customer, crew and employee experience each and every day.

Job Description:

  • Writing robust and maintainable code.
  • Provide guidance on design making sure all business requirements are addressed
  • Collaborate with other engineers, be mentor that actively helps the team in development and best practices. Assist the team when blocked, and drive them towards a decision, managing divergent views.
  • Collaborate within a development team, assisting end to end. Contribute to all aspects of the agile development life cycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. Always seeking to improve the team velocity through leadership.
  • Ensure quality through automation testing and unit testing, maintaining and improving the code coverage.
  • Improve the app using debugging tools
  • Provide guidance on NFRs
  • Have a passion for quality making sure the team adheres to acceptance criteria, focusing on security and privacy for our customers. Leading the team in the RCA of issues.
  • Continuously improve the logging and monitor metrics in the app, delivering always feel-good moments to our customers.
  • Work in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you are always working on the most important priorities. Steer and communicate early when priorities and/or delivery times overlap. Build relationships outside of the team and showcases the team skills in engineering team.
  • Model your team based on McDonald’s company values, fostering growth on the development team through constructive feedback and concrete goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • At least 5 or more years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • C1 English proficiency, written and spoken is required.
  • Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Analysis, design implementation, testing, evolution.
  • Experience with Unit testing.
  • Experience on version control tools, mainly focused on Git.
  • Solid knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals (object and functional oriented paradigms, architectural and design patterns, data structures and algorithms).
  • Proven leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational precision and best practices.
  • Solution-oriented attitude and ability to solve tough problems in a collaborative, cross functional, and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience debugging production applications, using native tools (profilers) as well as third party tools (New Relic, SonarQube, DataDog, etc).
  • Commitment on security and privacy when coding.
  • Uncompromising attention to detail, passion for quality and drive to continuously improve the product.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.
