WGU is seeking a Salesforce Engineer to join their Guadalajara team. The role focuses on developing custom solutions, collaborating across teams, and managing Salesforce's complex environment. Successful candidates will have extensive Salesforce experience and knowledge of integration processes, contributing significantly to enhancing operational efficiency in a remote setting that will shift to hybrid.

About the Role :

About the Team and Project:

You will report to a Software Engineering Manager who oversees multiple teams. The candidate will be working alongside multiple Salesforce Administrators and Developers across multiple product teams. Cross team collaboration is needed to project and code reviews. The main Salesforce org at WGU is over 11 years old and is a complex-built application with over 6,000 users. There are three main product teams that support Salesforce with the goal to embed a Salesforce engineer on other teams to allow for better support of integration needs.

What you'll do

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Attend daily standup calls, refinement and planning to scope stories and provide. estimates of work to be completed.
  • Collaborate with product managers and business partners to refine requirements.
  • Developing custom solutions in Salesforce Platform using Apex, LWC.
  • Integrate Salesforce.com with external systems using REST services.
  • Deploy changes to production using CI/CD tool.
  • On-Call: We believe in the value of ‘you build it, you own it’; therefore, participation in an on-call rotation may be required.

What you'll need

Minimum Technical Qualifications Experience

  • 5 plus years experience with Salesforce and In-depth knowledge of APEX with a strong experience of using developer toolkit including Apex Classes, Controllers, and Triggers.
  • Substantial experience of using Visual Force for SF development and ability to convert such to Lightning Pages.
  • Must have English B2 and above.
  • Strong knowledge of REST web services.
  • Practical knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming language (JAVA, .net).
  • Proficiency with SOQL & SOSL languages.
  • Understanding of best practices to perform operational support, enhancements, bug fixes as needed to the Salesforce.com platform.
  • Utilize Salesforce APIs to integrate with other systems used in the organization
  • Experience working with large data sets.
  • Salesforce declarative tools like workflow, Visual Flows, Approval process, etc.
  • Working knowledge in SDLC process, Agile Scrum Methodology, version control software like GIT, Jenkins, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL tools.
  • Data Analysis: Interpreting data, analyzing results, Identifying patterns and trends
  • Experience working in complex Salesforce environments with firm understanding of governor limits and best practices.
  • Ability to escalate concerns to leadership for support so projects are not delayed so projects are not delayed.

Expertise: Nice to have

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification.
  • Experience with Informatica, Mulesoft and Heroku.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with traditional SQL.

Location: Guadalajara: Remote for now will be hybrid soon.
