TheXbox Experiences and Platform Commerce (XPC)team is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Catalog & UGC (User-Generated Content) team. In this role, you will be part of a passionate group of software engineers building a broad set of reliable, highly scalable distributed services.

Our mission is to empower game creators to reach and engage players and successfully monetize their games—everywhere. You will be responsible for the design, development, and operation of these services to ensure delightful and reliable experiences for our customers, including game studios and developers.

You will collaborate closely with multiple partners, including our SDK (Software Development Kit), Tools, Portals, and LiveOps teams, as well as first-party (1PP) and third-party (3PP) studios, Xbox Live, Game Pass, the Store, and our Program Management teams.

This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home!

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience delivering quality software within a professional organization.
  • 1-2 years of programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C#, C, C++, Java.
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Kubernetes, Linux, Azure, or AWS.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, threading, and synchronization.
  • You are an ambitious team player who is passionate about learning, sharing knowledge, and helping your teammates succeed.
  • You are creative and possess strong design, development, and collaboration skills.
  • Global collaboration is integral to our work at Microsoft, and proficiency in English is essential for effective communication in this role.
Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience programming with .NETFramework or .NETCORE.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, servicesand cloud storage technologies.
  • Experience with one or more of Kubernetes, Linux, Azureor AWS.
