FXC Intelligence is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Mexico City on a remote-first model with occasional in-person meetups. You will design and develop Golang microservices and React/TypeScript frontends, delivering high-quality interfaces and scalable data processing.

You’ll improve performance and observability while collaborating with a small, focused team to advance our financial data platform used by global clients. Strong communication and willingness to learn are valued.

Software Engineer (Golang/TypeScript/React)

Mexico City, Mexico– remote. Please note that while this role is remote, we require team members to be based in this region for periodic in-person meet-ups.

Reporting to Lead Software Engineer

Typical hours are Monday-Friday, working 9-5 EST/EDT, with potential on-call support required

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team, responsible for working on our platform, which some of the world's biggest companies, central banks and non-governmental organisations use to build revenue and volume through data and analytics. This is an opportunity to influence technical direction, elevate engineering standards and deliver features that make a meaningful difference to our clients.

What success looks like in this role:

• Designing, developing, testing, maintaining and enhancing the Golang microservices and frontend applications you're responsible for
• Delivering beautiful, performant interfaces, driven by our design system, for our customers
• Improving the performance and observability of our services and applications
• Improving the quality of life of your team and the business, through automation, process improvement or new technologies

About the team:

• You will join a technical team of approximately 30 technologists with a key purpose of continuously and reliably collecting large amounts of financial data describing cross-border payments, then processing the data, verifying its quality and serving it to our users so that they can make informed business decisions
• A typical team contains around three engineers and a Product Manager
• You will be interacting with various stakeholders across the business in addition to your immediate team

You should apply if you can confidently:

• Write Golang services and web app backends, and deploy them in Docker containers
• Build beautiful, componentised application frontends in React/TypeScript
• Write performant SQL
• Understand clean code principles and the language idioms of TypeScript and Go, review code using these principles and establish team quality standards
• Learn and engage with a new business domain and product
• Communicate complex topics to your peers
• Talk about how you learn and improve your skills

These skills will help, but aren’t essential:

• Applications with concurrent logic (i.e. goroutines)
• Building CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitLab CI
• Configuring and using observability tools (e.g. Prometheus and Grafana)
• Experience utilising AI to increase productivity and efficiency of work and productionised AI tools
• MaterialUI
• Using Airflow, Python or Terraform
