This is an exciting opportunity for software engineers (all levels) passionate about Linux, cloud infrastructure, pipelines, automation, and open source software.

You will work closely with Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and other cloud partners to enhance Ubuntu as a leading cloud platform. Your responsibilities include build system development (using Python, Jenkins, shell), implementing cloud-related features in Ubuntu Server, managing continuous delivery pipelines, and engaging with partners. You will automate the delivery of Ubuntu products across workloads from web servers to GPU-accelerated AI, and integrate with cloud-native services.

What you'll do

• Build automated, reliable image delivery, testing, and publication pipelines
• Design, develop, and integrate new features into Ubuntu for cloud users
• Collaborate with a distributed team
• Write high-quality code for new features
• Design and architect complex cloud systems
• Debug issues and produce high-quality fixes
• Review code and participate in design discussions
• Work remotely with 2 to 4 weeks of global travel for events
• Engage with internal teams, open source communities, and partners

Who you are

• Passionate about technology and collaboration
• Curious, flexible, articulate, and accountable
• Valuing soft skills, passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, self-motivated
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or related field
• Practical experience with public clouds
• Interest and experience with at least 3 of: containers (Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps automation, open source projects, APIs, Linux system administration, Python packaging, cloud applications
• Experience in Python software development on Linux
