ABOUT THIS ROLE

This opportunity is for a Software Development Manager who will manage and grow one or more engineering teams for Audible’s Digital Asset Management (ADAM) group. You will define, design, and refine the technology that keeps us ahead of our listeners by driving innovation and developing effective solutions. You will lead the team to build and maintain our platform, enabling millions of stories to reach audiences worldwide.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Audible Digital Asset Management (ADAM) team manages the infrastructure for encoding and publishing audio, images, and other assets that bring audiobooks to life. Our responsibilities include asset processing, automated issue detection, synchronization, encoding, and supporting publishing to various marketplaces. Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the delivery of large cross-functional projects across teams and divisions.
2. Collaborate to define core business objectives and optimize resource utilization.
3. Manage multiple projects from inception to launch, coordinating with technology, business, and operations teams.
4. Contribute to technical architecture decisions.
5. Demonstrate technical expertise and proactively resolve issues.
6. Maintain transparent communication regarding project risks, progress, and outcomes.
7. Improve project execution performance using objective metrics.
8. Mentor and develop junior team members to enhance their skills and system knowledge.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience leading software development teams.
• 5+ years in software development and deployment of distributed multi-tier applications.
• 3+ years managing agile projects across distributed teams.
• Business fluency in written and verbal English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with web and SOA distributed technologies such as Java/J2EE.
• Experience with AWS solutions.
• Experience leveraging machine learning models.
• Strategic, action-oriented, and adaptable to change.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Self-starter capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to deliver innovative, extensible solutions.
