OPmobility in Monterrey, Mexico, seeks a mechatronic engineer to lead automation projects on automotive robot cells. You will integrate robotics, PLC systems, and industrial automation to ensure safe, efficient production with commissioning and optimization.

Responsibilities include robot programming (FANUC/Kuka/Comau TP), PLC programming (Siemens S7/Allen-Bradley), integration with PROFINET, process documentation, safety requirements, and training.

Formación

• Mechatronic engineer with automotive industry exposure.
• Master degree desirable and professional English level.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience with laser degating injection molding machines.

Responsabilidades

• Support implementation of new projects with cross-functional teams.
• Program FANUC / Kuka / Comau robots using Teach Pendant language.
• Program Siemens S7 / Allen Bradley PLCs; integrate robots with PLCs via PROFINET.
• Start‑up and commission robotic production lines; ensure safety and reliability.
• Create process documentation, PFMEA/FMEA, and work instructions.
• Develop safety requirements and participate in supplier FAT and plant SAT.
• Create maintenance plans, spare parts lists, and training for operators.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing and Robot cell processes by integrating robotics, PLC systems, and industrial automation technologies. The position is responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable production line operations through equipment commissioning, process optimization, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and corporate engineering standards within an automotive manufacturing environment.

Responsabilities

• Supporting the implementation of new projects in close collaboration with cross‑functional project teams
• Programming FANUC / Kuka / Comau industrial robots using Teach Pendant (TP) language
• Programming Siemens S7 / Allen Bradley / PLCs
• Integrating robotic systems with PLCs via PROFINET communication
• Performing start‑up and commissioning of robotic production lines in the automotive industry
• Cooperating with corporate design teams and equipment suppliers to ensure proper installation in accordance with customer specifications and safety standards
• Support Process Engineer in Creating process flow charts, PFMEA/FMEA, and work instructions based on project documentation
• Active involvement in the development of technical specifications and machine safety requirements
• Coordinating and executing testing activities for new equipment and manufacturing processes
• Creation of Preventive maintenance plan and routines for robopt cell
• Definne list of critical spare parts for robot cell
• Developing work instructions and safety instructions, and conducting operator and maintenance training
• Creating and updating time studies and cycle‑time analyses and implement optimizations
• Designing layouts for robot cell equipment and production areas
• Organizing and participating in internal and external trial builds, including supplier FAT and plant SAT
• Preparing process parameter cards and setup documentation for robot cell
• Analyzing root causes of failures, optimizing process parameters, and implementing corrective actions
• Troubleshooting production and automation issues to ensure stable and efficient robot cell operation
• Developpe and implement End Of Arm Tool
• Creation of Preventive maintenance plan and routines for End of Arm Tool
• Definne list of critical spare parts for End of Arm Tool
• Manage and monitore all the backups
• Manage and monitore Bateries life time in every cell
• Manage and monitore all Licenses
• Organise training of process engineer in robot programing
• Create a Network with suppliers and other OPmobility plant in order to accelerate trouble shoot and spare part availability
