Dematic in Mexico is seeking a Site Engineer to support onsite project execution from pre-mobilization through demobilization. You will coordinate with Project Manager, Site Manager, installation and commissioning teams, and customer stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant onsite activities.

The role requires strong coordination, documentation, and technical skills across mechanical, electrical, and commissioning readiness tasks, with a focus on SQCDP metrics and site safety.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years in site engineering, project execution, or related environments.
  • Experience with installation and commissioning of automated electro-mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Strong reading of technical drawings, layouts, and project specs.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate and review scheduled onsite activities with project leadership.
  • Support documentation: progress, safety, quality, punch lists, and daily/weekly reports.
  • Assist with pre-mobilization activities and site surveys.
  • Coordinate site equipment, tools, access, and required documentation.
  • Support SQCDP metrics: Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People.
  • Monitor installation activities to ensure conformance with drawings and specs.
  • Provide technical support during mechanical, electrical, pre-commissioning, and commissioning readiness.
  • Contribute to safety walks, toolbox talks, regulatory checks, and records.
  • Assist with material deliveries, inventory, and discrepancy reporting.
  • Support readiness for commissioning activities and customer acceptance.

Descripción del empleo

The Site Engineer is responsible for supporting the successful execution of onsite project activities from pre-mobilization through project demobilization. This role provides technical and coordination support during installation, integration, commissioning readiness, and site closeout activities.

The Site Engineer works closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, Installation teams, Commissioning teams, Site Services, suppliers, subcontractors, and the Customer to ensure onsite activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project scope, schedule, quality, and documentation requirements.

This position is a key member of the onsite project execution team and supports the coordination of Dematic teams and Customer stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

What You Will Do in This Role
  • Support the review and coordination of scheduled onsite activities with the Project Manager, Site Manager/Superintendent, Installation teams, Commissioning teams, and Site Services team
  • Assist in the preparation, update, and control of project documentation related to onsite execution, including installation progress, safety documentation, quality records, punch lists, and daily/weekly reports
  • Support pre-mobilization activities, including validation of pre-mobilization checklists and participation in project site surveys
  • Assist with coordination of site equipment, rental equipment, tools, access requirements, and required documentation
  • Support the execution of project SQCDP metrics: Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People
  • Monitor onsite installation activities to ensure alignment with drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirements
  • Provide technical support to installation teams during mechanical, electrical, pre-commissioning, and commissioning readiness activities
  • Support site safety requirements by participating in safety walks, toolbox talks, regulatory checks, and verification of safe work practices
  • Assist in maintaining site safety documentation, daily registers, evacuation plans, and compliance records
  • Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to support timely completion of onsite tasks
  • Support quality inspections, materials management, and verification of installed equipment against project specifications
  • Assist with material deliveries, inventory tracking, discrepancy reporting, and regular inventory audits
  • Support daily coordination meetings, weekly planning sessions, and look-ahead schedules
  • Track action items, open issues, constraints, and risks related to onsite execution and elevate as needed
  • Support onsite communication with the Customer by providing technical updates and ensuring relevant information is shared with the Site Manager and Project Manager
  • Assist in coordinating readiness for commissioning activities, including verification of installation completion, punch list tracking, and documentation readiness
  • Support customer acceptance testing activities and coordinate required technical inputs
  • Assist in preparing customer sign-off documentation, handover packages, and onsite training coordination
  • Support site demobilization activities, including return of excess materials, rental equipment, tools, and site resources
  • Assist with scrap management, site cleanup, closeout documentation, and lessons learned updates
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Construction Management, Business, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in site engineering, project execution, construction, industrial installation, material handling, automation, or related environments
  • Experience supporting installation and commissioning activities for automated electro-mechanical systems is preferred
  • Strong understanding of onsite construction, installation, safety, quality, and coordination processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, installation documentation, and project specifications
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customer representatives
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of materials tracking, inventory management, and site logistics is preferred
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Willingness to work onsite and travel as required by project needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in automated material handling, warehouse automation, conveyor systems, robotics, or industrial automation
  • Previous experience supporting commissioning or pre-commissioning activities
  • Knowledge of OSHA, site safety standards, or local regulatory safety requirements
  • Experience with punch list management, site reporting, and customer acceptance documentation
  • Ability to work in multicultural and cross-functional project environments
