Amazon Mexico is seeking a Shift Manager in Guadalajara to lead the delivery station's under-the-roof operations, guiding a team of Process Assistants and Associates. You will manage staffing, plan shifts, audit daily plans, and drive safety and performance improvements.

You'll conduct Gemba walks, review metrics, and coordinate with stakeholders and leadership to ensure smooth end-to-end processes and accurate reporting of daily operations and shift handoffs.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing).
  • 1+ years of employee and performance management experience.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Able to push and pull wheeled dollies up to 100 pounds.
  • 2+ years of experience with performance metrics or lean techniques (preferred).

Responsabilidades

  • Track and monitor sorting operations and driver dispatch.

We are seeking a Shift Manager, based in Guadalajara, MX, to join the Amazon Logistics team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the delivery station, overseeing the under-the-roof (UTR) operation that focuses on the end-to-end process inside the building. You will lead a team of Process Assistants and Associates in daily activities, including operational execution, performance reviews, training sessions, and communication with stakeholders and senior leadership.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Promoting a culture of safety
  • Ensuring that people are properly trained and their needs are addressed so they can focus on their jobs
  • Supporting and assigning job duties to process assistants and associates
  • Adapting to sudden changes and growth according to operational necessities, due to the nature of Amazon's business
  • Tracking and monitoring sorting operations and driver dispatch
  • Helping with in-station operations: receiving, scanning, lifting, and moving shipments up to 25 kg

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage staff, resources, consumables, and key metrics for the delivery station.
  • Coordinate operative meetings, communicate with support areas, handle proper escalations, and analyze data.
  • Plan shifts, audit plans, and execute daily operations.
A day in the life
  1. Conducts Gemba walks and audit plans
  2. Manage shift start-ups
  3. Execute safety audits, walks, and meetings
  4. Verify daily operations plan, volume, attendance, and route planning
  5. Engage with associates, completes performance audits, and conduct quality inspections
  6. Complete reports (Daily Ops Plan, Daily Call Outs, End of Shift Report) and address any discrepancies in reporting tools
  7. Holds end-of-shift meetings with leadership team to review performance opportunities and establish action plans
  8. Perform shift handoff to incoming Shift Manager (in person or email) and preview next-day plans
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English
  • 1+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
