A global e-commerce leader is looking for an Area Shift Manager in Veracruz, Mexico. In this fully onsite role, you'll lead a team to ensure operational efficiency and promote a culture of safety. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, management experience, and fluency in English and Spanish. This position requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.

Job Specifics:
  • This role is fully onsite and requires flexibility to work and rotate shifts, including weekends, holidays, overnight shifts, and overtime during peak seasons or as needed.
Key job responsibilities
  • Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing
  • Analyze and implement corrective actions to maintain high quality and productivity levels, ensuring business objectives are met across all shifts
  • Support and lead a team, handle administrative tasks, and foster a strong team culture
  • Analyze performance data and suggest process improvements to optimize work and enhance customer service
  • Promote best practices and continuous process improvements in areas like health, safety, and productivity
  • Collaborate with other managers to standardize shift processes
A day in the life

You’ll work shifts at one of our operational sites, focusing on maintaining safety standards and process efficiency. Your daily tasks will include team management, operational troubleshooting, process improvement initiatives, and contingency planning.

You will work with colleagues across teams and external partners to meet customer demands and targets, analyze data and performance metrics, and discuss technical improvements with engineers.

About the team

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) manages last-mile delivery in partnership with third-party carriers. We focus on operational excellence, supporting both 'under the roof' processing teams and 'on the road' delivery via Amazon Flex. We innovate continuously to improve delivery experience, reduce our carbon footprint, and explore new delivery concepts like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.

Minimum qualifications
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role with management responsibilities
  • 2+ years' direct management experience
  • Intermediate to advanced English (B2+), fluent in Spanish (written and verbal)
  • Experience with Lean methodologies, project management, and KPI management
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation, or related field
  • Logistics background, preferably in First-Middle Mile operations
  • Advanced English proficiency (C1+)
