Shift Manager Jr

The role supports internal operations within a delivery station. It is responsible for managing a team of over 20 hourly associates, overseeing safety metrics, shifts, vacations, overtime, and key operational metrics such as sort efficiency, package throughput rate, and sort compliance.

Impacts of this position include:

  • Achieving operational KPIs and goals outlined in the station's strategic plan.
  • Coaching the hourly team to meet performance objectives and fostering positive employee relations and organizational bench strength.
  • Continuously improving sortation and staging processes while promoting a culture of customer obsession, safety, and best practices.

This role is fully onsite and requires flexibility to work and rotate shifts, including weekends, holidays, overnight shifts, and overtime during peak seasons.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Ensure team execution to meet business goals, focusing on KPIs such as sort efficiency, package throughput, and compliance.
  2. Support process improvements to address operational inefficiencies, enhance service to Amazon customers, and reduce costs.
  3. Oversee and optimize workflows in inbound, sortation, and outbound processes according to standard procedures.
  4. Manage and develop the hourly team, balancing productivity with a positive work environment and meeting performance objectives.
  5. Maintain a strong focus on safety, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and fostering continuous improvement.
Minimum requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Basic English proficiency (A2).
  • At least 2 years of previous experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a people manager.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree completed.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Over 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools.
