Purpose of the Position
Promote and ensure excellence in safety management throughout all project lifecycle phases. Develop and communicate the Project Safety Management Plan and ensure its effective implementation. Support the development of the Project Safety Strategy. Monitor project standards and KPIs, recognize good performance, and address poor performance through effective action plans. Communicate proactively with the project team, community, authorities, and Nestlé management. Promote safety culture, ensure compliance, and serve as an ambassador of safety during all phases of execution.

A Day in the Life
  • Ensure compliance with local safety legislation and Nestlé safety standards by integrating safety into all project stages, including delivery, operational reviews, design-for-construction, and contractor management.
  • Support project teams in developing the Safety Management Plan, ensuring it includes effective risk management procedures such as worker orientation & training, risk assessments, method statements, lifting plans, permits to work, and emergency planning. Modify the plan as needed during the project.
  • Ensure implementation of site risk management procedures, focusing on high-frequency risks (slips, trips, falls) and high-hazard tasks (work at height, critical lifting, hot work).
  • Provide training and coaching to managers and team leaders to enhance their risk management knowledge, legislative understanding, and safety duties. Offer personal coaching and support to the local project management team.

What Will Make You Successful
Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a master's in occupational safety.
  • Knowledge of international safety legislation relevant to project and construction.
  • Understanding of Nestlé's policies on S&H at work, along with relevant standards and guidelines.

Qualifications include experience with NEBOSH S&H or OSHA Construction, NFPA 70E, and lifting safety (Gruas).

Safety management expertise in construction safety, managing high-hazard tasks, and experience in senior safety roles on major construction sites. Ability to translate policies into practical actions, coach teams, and communicate effectively across organizational levels.

Languages: Proficiency in English and local languages (written and spoken).
