Job summary

Forvia in Mexico is seeking a Series Buyer to improve supplier performance across plants, focusing on quality, cost and delivery. You will size potential savings, manage VAVE and resourcing activities, and coordinate with operations, finance and commodity teams.

The role requires a bachelor's or master's in engineering, business or international trade, 5+ years in purchasing or related fields within automotive, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in purchasing, production, quality, logistics or sales within automotive industry.
• Knowledge of productivity / lean management methodology.
• Knowledge of production, quality and logistics.
• Ability to work in matrix organization.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Bussines intelligence and analytics (sic).
• Sea freight and bonded warehouse suppliers management.
• Savings Initiative lead.
• Fluent English

Responsibilities

• Improve supplier performance in production (quality, cost, delivery).
• Establish, feed and monitor portfolio for VAVE, MoB and resourcing activities.
• Execute and coordinate actions with stakeholders to reach budget targets.
• Contribute to plant results review with operations, finance, controlling.
• Accountable for the series purchasing performance of plant(s) under scope.
• Participate in ECR meetings and lead ECR related actions for purchasing scope.
• Execute resourcing and Make or Buy in serial life.
• Manage transfer/resourcing/relocalization activities with suppliers in series.
• Execute risk mitigation plan defined by commodity, support admin actions.
• Review and monitor weekly purchasing productivity plan under scope.
