We are looking for a highly skilled Web Developer to support our client Portal, currently built on a legacy stack (PHP 7.1, Laravel 4.2, MySQL 5.0). The project involves maintaining the current system and migrating it from AWS to another hosting provider (likely inMotion Hosting). This may require minor updates to the stack to ensure compatibility and stability, but the goal is to keep the application functional on its existing architecture rather than performing full modernization. Project Goals Migrate the portal from AWS to a new hosting environment (inMotion Hosting). Perform minor stack updates only as needed to ensure compatibility in the new environment. Ensure the portal remains fully functional and stable post-migration.

What You’ll Do:

• Assess the existing portal codebase, dependencies, and server configuration.
• Develop and execute a migration plan, including backups and rollback procedures.
• Set up the new server environment and migrate application code, database, and assets.
• Perform minor stack updates required for migration and compatibility on the new server.
• Test the portal to confirm full functionality in the new environment.
• Provide documentation and guidance for ongoing support.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5-7+ years of professional web development experience, with at least: 3+ years working with PHP/Laravel (including older versions)
• 2+ years of experience handling server migrations or infrastructure work.
• Demonstrated experience upgrading, modernizing, and migrating legacy systems.
• Strong experience with PHP (7.x and above) and Laravel (legacy 4.x + modern versions).
• Hands-on expertise with MySQL (5.0 through 8.0+).
• Proven track record in server migrations (AWS, cPanel, or other hosting service).
• Solid Linux server administration skills (Apache, Nginx, SSH, SSL).
• Demonstrated experience in modernizing or upgrading legacy systems, including full-stack upgrades.
• Familiarity with Git workflows and deployment best practices.
• References or a portfolio of similar migration projects required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Nice to Have

• AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3).
• CI/CD pipelines, Frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js) for future enhancements.
• Experience implementing automated testing.
