Job summary

Jabil in Mexico is seeking a skilled technician to support test equipment and manufacturing processes on the production floor. You will assist Test Engineers, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure spare parts availability and timely responses to machine downtime.

This role involves providing technical assistance to colleagues, liaising with manufacturing for repair priorities, and generating daily and downtime reports. Strong PC skills and knowledge of Windows-based software are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Operate a PC with Windows OS and related software.
• Advanced PC skills including knowledge of Jabil software.
• Write simple correspondence; read and understand visual aids.
• Carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Work with standard procedures with few variables.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, memos.

Responsibilities

• Provide input for colleague performance appraisals.
• Assist Test Engineers when commissioning new test equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to other technicians on the same shift.
• Provide line support to manufacturing for all test processes.
• Ensure timely responses to machine downtime calls.
• Liaise with manufacturing to determine repair priorities.
• Ensure adequate spares are available for allocated equipment.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance at specified intervals.
• Ensure Preventative Maintenance does not impact production schedule.
• Escalate unresolved issues to Test Engineers.
• Instruct operators on safe/effective use of test equipment.
• Provide daily reports of line issues.
• Provide weekly/quarterly downtime reports for allocated equipment.
• Source spares from cost-effective suppliers.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
