Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job

Working as part of the MX IBMz Team to undertake all aspects of DB2 for z/OS activities.

Your responsibility as a Database Administrator and System Programmer will be ensuring the performance, integrity, maintenance, and security across several global regions. You'll be involved in the planning and maintenance of the databases, as well as troubleshooting issues on behalf of users.

As a DB2 for z/OS specialist, you’ll need to:

• Install and test new versions and function levels of DB2.
• Continuously deliver maintenance for DB2 and associated tools.
• Support and manage distributed DB2 connections.
• Engineer solutions to automate processes where appropriate.
• Maintain stability and integrity of a highly responsive OLTP (CICS) DB2 environment.
• Carry out capacity planning.

Requirements

Experience:

• DB2 production support
• DB2 software maintenance
• DB2 performance tuning
• DB2 application support

• Experience as a z/OS Systems Specialist with knowledge of DB2.
• Experience in programming languages such as REXX or COBOL is advantageous.
• Ability to carry out capacity planning.
