We are seeking hardworking individuals to join Micron as a Senior Inventory Management and Optimization Analyst! This role will expose you to Micron's end-to-end Supply Chain, while working with various departments including Operations, Sales, Business Units, Corporate Strategy, and Finance. You will interact constantly with some of the following areas: Supply Chain Engineering, Sales and Operations Planning, New Product Introduction, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Optimization, Industrial Engineering/Research Operations, Product Portfolio Management, Order Promising, Global Supply Management, and Advanced Analytics.
As a Senior Inventory Management and Optimization Analyst at Micron Technology, Inc. you will work to develop and manage supply chain policies, inventory business processes or inventory optimization models, driving our massive suite of data to concise information that all teams can act on to push Micron to be best in class. You will have responsibilities in driving projects and programs to determine safety stock policies, replenishment strategy per product, maintain our days of inventory outstanding (DIO) at target, collaborate on the development and reporting applications, managing ongoing improvements in current and future inventory disposition systems, and development and refinement of our supply chain policies regarding capacity, raw materials, supply planning and inventory management.
Much of your time will be spent proactively managing internal relationships across all operations, supply planning, product engineering and business unit entities worldwide to understand strategic and tactical issues and associated KPI’s, and how we can best serve our customers.
You must have excellent skills related to data analysis and developing conclusions to complex problems. You must also have strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities as these will make you successful in resolving many of the problems you find to meet the defined objectives.
You will be expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of service level, inventory management and inventory optimization related business processes at Micron.
The involvement in any type of sales agreements or the execution of sales contracts is prohibited. The role also does not carry the authority to make definitive decisions regarding contracts, be it their conclusion or termination. Furthermore, the role is not designed to involve any participation in pricing negotiations or the authorization of contracts, or any other activity related to sales agreements. These activities fall beyond the permissible duties of the position.
A supply chain engineer is an engineering professional who applies the principles of management science, industrial engineering, operations research, and analytics for the design, control, and systems on the business of supply chain management. The work of supply chain engineer also includes teamwork and optimization of supply chain operations with partners and stakeholders, including Sales, Business Unit, Demand Planning, Manufacturing Operations, Procurement, Logistics and Outsource Operations team.
• 25% Manufacturing Engineer, 25% Business, 25% Data Science and 25% Supply Chain Engineering
• Undergrad in Engineering and Masters in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• Strong analytical, problem solving and cross functional collaboration skills
• Ability to evaluate trade-off and make decision in uncertain environment
