Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a hands-on Storage Systems Engineer to support large-scale Linux-based storage platforms, ensuring production reliability, performance, and timely recovery.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, datacenter, vendor, and business teams to implement safe changes, migrations, and automation, while improving monitoring, runbooks, and incident response processes. The role also includes troubleshooting filesystem issues, managing quotas, and data lifecycle policies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in storage engineering or Linux storage operations.
• Strong knowledge of file, block, and object storage technologies.
• Solid Linux admin and production support experience.
• Experience with NFS mounts, automount, and multipath setups.
• Networking fundamentals related to storage (DNS, latency, throughput).
• Scripting and automation using Python or Bash.
• Experience with Ansible or Terraform is a plus.
• Excellent teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
• Comfortable working near production and driving improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain reliability, performance, and availability of storage services.
• Operate GPFS/IBM Storage Scale, NFS, NetApp, and other storage platforms.
• Troubleshoot storage issues in production including latency and capacity.
• Monitor capacity, performance, and growth trends; respond to incidents.
• Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks in Python/Bash.
• Collaborate with datacenters, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Participate in incident response and on-call support.
• Improve monitoring, runbooks, and operational processes.
