Job summary

Aspen Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software across desktop, web, and cloud environments. The role requires strong programming skills in C# and/or C++, hands-on SDLC experience, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

You will collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming and coding skills for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining complex software.
• Strong proficiency in C# and/or C++.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented design, and patterns.
• End-to-end software development lifecycle experience including requirements, design, testing, and deployment.
• Experience developing desktop and/or web applications, including services and APIs.
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD, Git and Perforce for version control.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Agile development practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software across desktop, web, and cloud environments.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering standards.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements, design, and testing.
• Contribute to software design and architecture, evaluating scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.
• Develop software applications, services, APIs, and automation using C#, C++, and scripting languages.
• Develop and support desktop and web applications using modern frameworks.
• Build and maintain applications for cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Create unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure quality and regression prevention.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, QA, DevOps, product teams, and stakeholders.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Integrate development with Git, Perforce, and CI/CD pipelines; use Docker and Kubernetes.
