Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer, Security Platform, to design, build, and operate the platform supporting the security team's services. You will work primarily in Golang and Python on AWS and Kubernetes, developing scalable, low-noise systems and CI gates used across pipelines.

You will report to the Director of Information Security and collaborate with engineers focused on detection, response, and zero trust.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven backend development in Go and Python.
• Experience with building and operating event-driven systems (NATS, Kafka).
• CI/CD tooling experience, GitLab CI is a strong plus.
• Security-focused software engineering background including SAST/SCA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate security engineering services in Go and Python on AWS/Kubernetes.
• Own the event-driven platform (NATS) and ensure delivery guarantees.
• Integrate scanners, findings, tickets, and metrics across the stack.
• Lead security gates: SAST, SCA, secret detection, container/IaC scans.
• Develop agentic security workflows and CI review agents.
• Automate triage to remediation with context and routing.
• Participate in threat modeling and on-call rotations.
