BairesDev is seeking a Senior Rust Engineer to build high-performance backend services using Rust, Actix, or Axum for scalable systems. You will work on data persistence with PostgreSQL, and implement distributed communication via gRPC/JSON-RPC in a fully remote setting.

You’ll join a global team that values memory-safe, efficient architectures, with flexible hours and compensation in USD or local currency. Candidates should have 4+ years in software engineering and strong English.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering with focus on systems programming.
• Strong expertise in Rust and building performance-critical backend services.
• Proficiency with Actix or Axum and asynchronous patterns.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, gRPC or JSON-RPC, and AWS deployments.
• Deep understanding of low-level networking and high-performance system architecture.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust backend services and APIs using Rust and frameworks like Actix or Axum.
• Implement efficient asynchronous programming patterns to handle high-concurrency workloads.
• Manage data persistence and optimize queries using PostgreSQL for performance-critical applications.
• Develop and integrate communication protocols using gRPC or JSON-RPC for distributed systems.
• Deploy and manage cloud-based services specifically within AWS environments.
• Ensure system reliability and performance through rigorous testing and optimization of memory-safe code.
