DataCandy, part of the Paystone family, seeks a remote Senior Ruby on Rails Developer in Mexico. You will architect robust Rails systems, mentor juniors, and set engineering standards across teams.

Formación

• 8+ years of software development with deep Ruby on Rails experience.
• Strong JavaScript skills and relational database knowledge (MySQL).
• Experience designing REST APIs and testing with RSpec/Capybara.
• Familiar with CI/CD, static analysis, and cloud platforms.

Your Role: Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

DataCandy is looking for a remote Senior Ruby on Rails Developer who thrives on technical leadership, collaboration, and innovation. In this role, you’ll architect robust solutions, mentor junior developers, and help set the standard for engineering excellence across our teams.

• Architecture: Design scalable, secure, and elegant software solutions that raise the bar
• Collaboration: Partner with product managers, designers, and QA to build world-class features
• Excellence: Lead by example in code reviews, maintain high coding standards, and champion clean, maintainable code
• Innovation: Stay curious, experiment with new tools, and bring fresh ideas that keep us ahead
• Ownership: Take accountability for your work from concept to deployment, ensuring long-term success
• Continuous Improvement: Embrace feedback, evolve practices, and contribute to a culture of growth

Who You Are

• Experienced: 8+ years in software development with strong expertise in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and MySQL
• Skilled: Proficient in Rails (or similar MVC frameworks), Active Record (or similar ORM), and RSpec testing
• Versatile: Familiar with JavaScript frameworks like React or jQuery, and bonus points for Capybara, Selenium, or other E2E testing tools
• API-Minded: Experienced building and documenting REST APIs, ideally with Grape and Swagger
• Quality-Focused: Comfortable with CI pipelines (GitLab CI) and static analysis tools like RuboCop and Brakeman
• Cloud-Savvy: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, BigQuery) or similar cloud environments is a strong plus
• Detail-Oriented: Passionate about quality, scalable solutions, and object-oriented development
