Brighter Signals seeks a highly specialized Remote Geotechnical Specialist to provide expert analysis for mining projects from anywhere in the world. Focus areas include ground stability, slope design, and underground excavation support.

The role demands a PhD/MS in geotechnical or mining engineering, 10+ years in the field, and mastery of FLAC, PLAXIS, and Rocscience tools. PE designation is highly desirable; remote collaboration and strong communication are essential.

Qualificações

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience with a substantial mining focus.
• Experience with FLAC, PLAXIS, RocScience suite (Slide, Examine3D).
• Professional Engineer (PE) designation or equivalent is highly desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Perform detailed geotechnical assessments for mine sites using remote sensing data and client information.
• Develop and review designs for open-pit slopes, underground openings, and tailings facilities.
• Run numerical modeling (e.g., finite element analysis) to evaluate stability.
• Provide recommendations on ground support systems and mitigation for geotechnical hazards.
• Review borehole data, lab tests, and in-situ measurements.
• Collaborate with site-based teams via virtual platforms to solve geotechnical challenges.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports and memorandums.
• Contribute to geotechnical best practices and standards for the company.
• Stay updated on advancements in geotechnical software and methodologies.
