Job summary

Citi Institutional Banking in Mexico City seeks a Senior Relationship Associate to support client fundraising in capital markets and provide strategic advisory for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.

You will coordinate with treasury teams, manage KYC, and work with product partners to structure credit facilities, FX, and LC transactions, while ensuring risk controls and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or closely related areas of business administration.
• Knowledge of Citi's product range and proficiency in Citi applications (e.g., ICG Toolbox and AMC).
• Comprehensive knowledge of documentation requirements (e.g., Letters of Comfort, parent guarantees, LC's and their agreements, ISDA/CSA, Short Term Loan agreements, Cards Agreements, etc.).
• Comprehensive knowledge of client's business and operations, including treasury model and philosophy.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry trends, basic accounting concepts, current banking relationship, return hurdles.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate requirements and support the negotiation of documents, contribute to development and execution of accounts, and review and extract information from financial statements/filings.
• Proven analytical aptitude to learn and sound judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt and moderate communication style to coordinate with others involved in the client portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the key contact for routine credit requests and related documentation.
• Assist with relationship reviews and ensure timely origination/monitoring/renewal/completion of KYC across products.
• Interact with cash managers and treasury staff for transactional banking issues and coordinate with appropriate teams.
• Ensure timely resolution of financial and operational investigations and client satisfaction.
• Facilitate credit origination, allocation, documentation, bookings, and renewals for standby letters of credit.
• Negotiate terms for standardized FX/Derivative transactions, LCs, or working capital loans as needed.
• Identify revenue opportunities and monitor revenues, billing and service queries in Citi Investment Strategies (CIS).
• Represent banking coverage in client meetings and assist in closing transactions when appropriate.
• Assess risk and ensure compliance, safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets.
