A leading company in the food industry seeks a Chemical/Food Engineer Biochemical to drive R&D activities in product development. The role demands a mix of technical expertise and leadership skills to support project management and influence cross-functional teams effectively. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in food engineering and a proven ability to lead initiatives targeted at enhancing product quality and consumer satisfaction.

Working as part of a cross-functional team you lead the RDQ activities required to complete new product development and maintain portfolios and/or productivity projects keeping in mind the goal to deliver the desired consumer experience.

How you will contribute

You will work independently to plan, lead and coordinate technical projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements You will effectively communicate status and risks and plan, lead and coordinate pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. In addition, you will plan, lead and coordinate development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.). To provide direction for product development, you will use digital simulation models to obtain, understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information. In this role, you will create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications and be responsible for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions made from analysis and interpretation of results.

What you need to know about this position:

  • Responsible for elaborating project plan and for disciplined project execution. Recommend validated product solutions with an informed defined risk and formula cost analysis.
  • Responsible to develop set of specifications: Ingredient, Formula, Processing and Manufacturing Instructions (MMI), shelf-life recommendations.
  • Leads project meetings within the category, cross-functionally with marketing or technical groups.
  • Participates in team projects, cross-functional committees, or company-wide initiatives to share information.
  • Drafts detailed & accurate reports for analyses, experiments, or projects.Gathers and organizes information under tight timelines to support senior management's decision-making.
  • Connects with Regional R&D Teams to align on priorities, project scope and resources support
  • Technical knowledge and experience in food/beverage industry
  • Knowledge on product development process and the ability to contribute expertise
  • Lead new product launches/ product reformulations by working collaboratively and networking with all the necessary functions while ensuring compliance with KO standards and policies/ local regulation for the entire Region. Own the project timeline, manage and co-ordinate interactions among several entities (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Marketing, Finance) to ensure effective process in place for each initiative as agreed standards and timelines.

Chemical/Food Engineer Biochemical

Job specific requirements:

Minimum 4 Years Engineering experience within R&D. CPG or Food Industry preferred.

Knowledge on Supply chain, Qualityand Food Safety
