Job summary

Versigent designs and delivers electrical distribution systems for vehicles, robotics, and energy platforms. The Senior Program Buyer – Flow 4 coordinates purchasing activities, analyzes BOM content, and interfaces SCM with other functions in the Program Development Process.

Within this role you will drive supplier selection, cost optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to meet milestones and support profitable program execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or supply chain management required.
  • English proficiency ~80% or higher.
  • 10+ years of experience in program buying or related roles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong teamwork skills.

The Senior Program Buyer - Flow 4 acts as the interface between SCM and other functions for direct material-related issues within the Program Development Process. This involves representing SCM in program activities and ensuring the availability of SCM deliverables. The role also includes coordinating purchasing activities and analyzing material content in BOMs. Additionally, the role supports the implementation of category supplier strategies and the engineering change process.

YOUR ROLE
  • Is acting as the interface between SCM and other functions for all direct material related issues within Program Development Process.
  • Represents and contributes on behalf of the SCM function in the respective program and participates in all standard activities/meetings/reviews.
  • Assures on time and complete availability of all SCM dedicated program deliverables/work packages.
  • Assures on time Advance PDP Deliverable for the program , for all purchased components of a program - in close collaboration with all stakeholders (SCM AQE, Category teams ,advanced/product engineering).
  • Assures capacity confirmation for all purchased components of a program - drives escalation in case of non-confirmation.
  • Assures customer’s directed buy ( CDB ) letters through concerned Sales Organization - drives escalation in case of non-confirmation.
  • Supports implementation of category supplier strategies and selection of best cost components in the Bill of Design process at the earliest possible stage.
  • Coordinates necessary purchasing process and activities according SCM rules & procedures.
  • Coordination of all purchasing activities related to new program launches (launch coordination within purchasing and with other functions to meet customer program milestones) – Flawless Launch/Supplier Performance Development Process (SPDP);
  • Ongoing program support during lifetime (Maintenance of project data, tracking of new parts etc.);
  • Analyze material content in the program BOM´s;
  • Define and drive recovery plan where applicable;
  • Contribute to YoY material cost reduction target by initiating and supporting performance initiatives (VA/VE, material usage, commercial link & leverage );
  • Responsible to develop best material cost option and own purchasing part of engineering changes management process to support profitability increase;
  • Work with Project Teams, Business Pursuit and the SCM team to help to win new businesses by supporting additional cost savings as requested;
  • Identify synergy effects for new programs (Link & Leverage) and coordinate their implementation with the respective Program Purchasing Manager and Category Team;
  • Communicate and implement of customer requirements within the purchasing organization and respective supply chain;
  • Participate in project team meetings at the earliest stage (design concept);
  • Develop a plan and drive execution to meet/exceed material cost budget for respective program;
  • Purchasing responsibility during the project development in conjunction with category strategy;
  • Leading Development Partner selection (RFQ, concept competition, supplier selection, Development Letter, follow up) together with the Category Buyer, Quality and Engineering;
  • Communicate and support Engineering to follow the SCM process requiring earliest involvement with Purchasing;
  • Provide engineering with sources that may contribute technical expertise and/or products for concept alternatives;
  • Lead/support all discussions between potential suppliers and Engineering and act as the interface for SCM for internal and external communications.
YOUR BACKGROUND
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • English proficiency at approximately 80% or higher.
  • +10 years of experience that Program Buyer o related positions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong teamwork skills.
