ABOUT THE ROLE: Uber Freight is looking for experienced Team Lead professionals with a background in the Transportation, Supply Chain, or Logistics field. Our specialists will manage the first escalation contact for day-to-day aspects of booking, shipping, tracking, and billing on both import and export shipments while providing excellent customer service to our customers.
WHAT THE CANDIDATE WILL DO:
- Secure capacity for loads.
- Leverage carrier communication to influence capacity awards during tight markets.
- Contact carrier to obtain the status of load-tendered; continue monitoring the shipment for on-time pick-up, transit, delivery, and empty.
- Ensure daily update load status in the system (e.g., loaded, pick-up, delivery, empty).
- Notify the Shipper and/or Receiver of Load Status and reschedule pick-up/delivery appointments when necessary.
- Ensure with the team and enter shipment status information—check calls, loaded calls, unloaded calls, and reference number information.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with shippers and receivers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses.
- Correspond with customer and carrier regarding detention information.
- Communicate and gain approval for expedited shipments.
- Negotiate with carrier and customer for spot shipments.
- Utilize TMS with the correct information to actively manage on-time performance and automation objectives.
- Assist in the onboarding process to operations.
- Ensure daily updates by creating templates in TMS.
- Train new hire employees within daily operation processes, flow, and needs.
- Oversee the team assigned to the position and monitor service across different accounts.
- Track volume and revenues on a weekly basis (Scorecards).
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned segments of the business.
- Identify and resolve the root cause of financial discrepancies in TMS financials.
- Monthly call with each customer.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced computer skills.
- Microsoft Excel—Advanced knowledge including VLookup, Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas.
- Advanced Spanish and English written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
- 2 or more years of knowledge in logistics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Freight Industry.
- Knowledge of LTL (pricing).
- Microsoft Excel—advanced formulas (VLookup, Pivot Tables).
- 1 - 2 years of customer service experience.
