This role

The Senior Product Manager for the Fraud Team will define and lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of fraud prevention and detection initiatives across PayJoy’s global platforms. This role will focus on implementing innovative tools and techniques to reduce fraud losses while maintaining a seamless experience for our users. The ideal candidate will also collaborate with engineering, risk, and data science teams to build scalable fraud solutions.

The successful candidate will bring expertise in fraud risk management, data analytics, and a passion for financial inclusion. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment will be essential.

Responsibilities

1. Create a roadmap to continuously improve PayJoy’s fraud prevention platform with goals to:
2. Reduce fraud losses and operational inefficiencies.
3. Enhance fraud detection with cutting-edge models and rules while minimizing false positives.
4. Streamline customer experience through frictionless fraud mitigation solutions.
5. Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation, requirements gathering, development, testing, and iteration, to full-scale implementation.
6. Work closely with engineering, fraud operations, and data science teams to deliver high-quality solutions that balance security and user experience.
7. Analyze and leverage data (ability to write and interpret SQL queries) to refine fraud prevention mechanisms.
8. Stay informed about emerging fraud trends, regulatory requirements, and industry technologies to maintain a state-of-the-art fraud platform.
9. Collaborate with internal teams to implement KPIs and monitoring systems to track fraud metrics and solution efficacy.

Requirements

1. 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in fraud or risk management within fintech or a related field.
2. Experience driving cross-functional teams, including engineering and data science, to deliver impactful products.
3. Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
4. Strong data-driven decision-making skills, including the ability to run SQL queries.
5. Familiarity with fraud detection technologies, including behavioral analytics, device intelligence, and machine learning solutions.
6. Demonstrated success in creating customer-first solutions while balancing security and operational efficiency.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Experience in high-growth startups.
2. Familiarity with fraud prevention tools and vendors (e.g., Sift, Arkose Labs, or equivalent).
3. Knowledge of compliance regulations related to fraud (e.g., AML, KYC).
4. Fluency in Spanish.
