In Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc., we're looking for a Senior Product Development Engineer for our New Innovation Center in Nuevo Leon. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate product changes from concept to launch. You will mentor new talent, especially entry-level engineers, with the possibility to mentor interns. Your design work will support our continuous improvement and cost reduction agendas to enhance our business health.

Job Description

1. Lead design and development engineering on assigned projects from concept to production. Provide engineering support and technical assistance to all engineering customers, both internal and external.
2. Lead teams in problem solving and failure analysis using engineering analysis tools.
3. Drive the team to develop capable, cost-effective manufacturing and assembly processes concurrent to product design activities to ensure robust designs are delivered.
4. Interact with Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Designers, Purchasing, and suppliers to meet the specifications and needs of the customer in developing new, reliable products for the market.
5. Develop, lead, and actively participate in Design Reviews / DFM / DFA for new products.
6. Lead other team members in resolving multiple complex engineering problems simultaneously in a multi-team environment. Mentor/Coach other team members in problem solving and engineering.
7. Continuously improve processes, skills, team environment, and tools necessary to achieve our product leadership strategy.
8. Develop and identify intellectual property claims for Moen while working with project teams.
9. Communicate technical information (data, designs, and updates) to a non-technical audience.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
2. Fully bilingual (English and Spanish).
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience, including significant manufacturing exposure and product development experience.
4. Experience with international suppliers is preferred.
5. Proficient in 3-D CAD (Creo) and PC use.
6. Familiar with: advanced failure analysis, scientific problem solving, FEA, FMEA, DOE, QFD, DFMA, and engineering principles in fluid, mechanical, and thermal areas. Interpretation of manufacturing and part design statistics.
7. Collaborative problem-solving skills, understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances, and analysis of component/assembly tolerance stack-ups.
8. Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 15%, domestically and internationally.
9. Ability to work effectively with suppliers from different countries and cultures.
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills for dealing with staff, customers, and suppliers at multiple levels.
