Job summary

AutoZone Business and Technology Store Support Center in Chihuahua, Mexico seeks an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate our enterprise LAN/WAN and SD-WAN. You will ensure security, performance, and reliability across global connectivity.

You will lead routing, monitoring, and automation efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams to deliver critical business initiatives. On-call rotation included.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
5+ years enterprise network engineering experience; CCNP certification.
Hands-on Cisco routing and switching experience (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP, TCP/IP, IOS/IOS-XE).
Experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) and WAN connectivity (MPLS, broadband, DIA, cellular/5G).
Cloud networking experience (GCP) including VPCs, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity.
Experience with Meraki wireless and enterprise networking security concepts.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and cloud network infrastructure for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
Design, plan, and implement network changes including routing, monitoring/alerting, and automation.
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, HSRP, QoS, L2/L3).
Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation for complex network and application performance issues.
Monitor network performance, capacity plan, and proactively improve availability and resiliency.
Support upgrades, lifecycle management, vulnerability remediation, and tech refresh initiatives.
Collaborate with security, cloud, infrastructure, voice, and application teams to deliver initiatives.
Develop and utilize automation to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain network architecture documentation, configuration standards, and procedures.
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers; contribute to roadmaps.
Coordinate with vendors/service providers to ensure availability and performance.
Follow ITIL change/incident/problem processes; participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and travel.
