Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Molding Process Engineer in Sonora, Mexico to develop and validate advanced molding processes, tools, and materials. The role focuses on reducing waste, improving cycle times, and ensuring product compliance through PPAP and statistical methods.

The candidate will lead engineering projects, validate new molds, and train personnel in molding techniques, materials handling, and quality systems to sustain high performance and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics Engineering (Polymers), Tool Engineering or related fields.
• 5+ years of experience in similar positions.
• Fluent in English/Spanish.
• Cost Out projects experience.
• Problem solving techniques (5 Why's, 8D's, etc.).
• Using statistical tools (Minitab).
• Project management experience.
• Scientific Molding (Master Molder 1).
• Solid Works, Mold design experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with HPWT to achieve Hive Five Metrics.
• Reduce scrap in Molding Area through actions.
• Define, develop and implement efficient molding processes.
• Improve efficiency and cycle time in molding processes.
• Lead value engineering, DOE, and RIE events to improve part cost, quality, and performance.
• Manage equipment installation, layout changes and improvements.
