Job summary

ZF LIFETEC in Mexico is seeking a Product Design & Applications Engineer II to drive design, development, validation, and engineering activities for automotive applications in compliance with customer specs and industry standards.

You will create 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using PTC Creo, manage engineering changes in Windchill, and collaborate with global teams to deliver high-quality solutions while focusing on manufacturability and cost considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years of automotive product design, development, or applications engineering experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings; PTC Creo strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of PLM systems and engineering change management; Windchill preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, dimensional analysis, and mechanical design principles.
• Experience with product validation, technical problem-solving, and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate automotive product design and development per customer specifications.
• Create, modify, and release 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using PTC Creo.
• Perform GD&T, dimensional analysis, and design feasibility reviews.
• Coordinate engineering changes, update BOMs, and manage Windchill workflows.
• Lead product validation activities and support root cause analysis.
