Clarios in Monterrey, MX, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of advanced energy storage systems for automotive applications. The role emphasizes innovation, manufacturability, and compliance with OEM requirements.

You will design mechanical components, perform FEA/CFD analyses, apply GD&T, coordinate with suppliers, and drive DFM/DFMEA and cost-reduction initiatives within a hybrid work setup in Monterrey with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience in plastic part design and injection molding.
• SolidWorks proficiency with at least 2 years hands-on.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate product development of advanced energy storage systems for automotive electrification.
• Oversee the design and development of mechanical components and sub-systems of lithium-ion batteries with cross-functional teams.
• Design multiple complex mechanical components using SolidWorks (molded plastic, metal, structure) for high-volume production.
• Prepare and review packaging studies for new product development and vehicle integration.
• Lead or perform FEA and CFD analyses, testing, and interpretation for durability, shock, crashworthiness, and structural concerns.
• Apply GD&T, perform tolerance stack-ups, and coach other engineers.
