Position Summary

Design layout, prepare complex 3D models, technical assembly and component drawings. Responsible for project documentation, providing solutions and/or improving designs of electromechanical products by solving functional problems in existing or developing products. Use expertise to guide or lead projects. Support and guide manufacturing and design engineers on lifecycle management, production systems, and development of technical drawings, CAD models, and documentation to support enterprise changes and new product development in medical devices.

Develop technology systems creatively and effectively in an independent and multidisciplinary way.

Duties
  • Define design and manufacturing implementation tasks, meet with multidisciplinary teams for product changes, following quality procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and create supporting documentation for product changes or new design concepts, including detailed mechanical design work such as 3D modeling, simulation (thermal & stress), and required design verification test protocols and reports. Collaborate with Engineering Manager or R&D Director to deliver optimized designs considering manufacturing, service, reliability, and cost.
  • Mentor mechanical designers on the use of design, lifecycle management, and manufacturing tools (e.g., PLM, AS400, CREO, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator) to deliver optimized designs. Guide them on documentation practices, understanding design requirements, and certifications (UL, CSA, CE Mark, CRN, ASME, PED).
  • Provide engineering support to departments such as manufacturing, service, quality, purchasing, materials, and suppliers to resolve product complaints reported in the field or at the production floor, including supplier transfers.
  • Create 2D drawings for manufacturing or procurement.
  • Generate assembly drawings and bills of materials.
  • Implement design change requests promptly.
  • Participate actively in safety, continuous improvement, and training initiatives, including certifications, safety audits, KPI maintenance, cost improvement projects, and system administration.
Education Degree

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (General)

Required Experience
  • Seven or more (7+) years of experience in drafting and design (Mechanical and/or Electrical).
  • Proficient in CAD packages (CREO, AutoCAD, PLM).
  • Broad knowledge of lifecycle management and manufacturing systems (PLM, AS400, Oracle) and engineering/drafting principles, materials, hardware, and shop practices.

  • Ability to understand and produce technical drawings.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal design solutions.
  • Plan and report mechanical design status on assigned tasks.
  • Ensure designs meet user requirements.
  • Deliver designs within specified deadlines.
