Job Description:

What will you work on?

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with vendors, headquarters, and cross-functional teams to develop innovative manufacturing solutions that meet product specifications, cost targets, and aesthetic requirements. This role also involves leading key initiatives, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving manufacturing processes to drive efficiency and quality.

How will you create impact?

Engineering Support

  • Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA): Guide product designs to support optimal manufacturing and assembly methods.
  • Collaborate with Product Development Engineering and Designers to align designs with manufacturing capabilities, targeting cost, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Independently carry out product development, engineering, and debugging to meet product specifications and aesthetic standards.
  • Oversee the engineering and procurement of consigned materials and special components, providing support to sourcing and cost negotiation.
  • Provide technical support and debugging for consigned materials during production.
  • Work with suppliers to define manufacturing methods and implement solutions for complex projects, such as injection molding, extrusion, decoration, other materials transformation or assembly processes (not exhaustive list).
  • Ensure the quality requirements of our products are met at Production Start, with the support of Quality team.

Project Management

  • Lead medium-complexity product launches, from development to Production Start (PS), ensuring timelines, costs, and quality standards are met.
  • Drive initiatives to improve processes, tooling designs, or products, focusing on efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Mentor junior engineers, sharing expertise in lean manufacturing, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to solve production challenges and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Provide on-site support throughout development, tooling, and production phases, monitoring schedules and resolving critical challenges.
  • Collaborate with vendors and supply chain to ensure Capacity planning in line with the demand.

Process Improvement and Continuous Development

  • Lead key improvement initiatives annually, focusing on optimizing manufacturing processes for cost, time, and quality efficiency.
  • Develop and implement practical solutions for manufacturing challenges, using tools such as CAD/DFMA/DFMEA and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Actively identify long-term efficiencies for evergreen product categories or new manufacturing strategies.
  • Ensure alignment with global initiatives, such as standardization of tooling, components, and production specifications.

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

  • Collaborate with sourcing staff and global teams to identify and develop non-Asia vendors and strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Prepare technical content for senior leadership, delivering insights on manufacturing strategies, cost analyses, and project updates.
  • Support cross-functional teams on production output issues and material authorization reviews.
  • Some travel to client sites will be required



What are your skills and experience?

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or Product Development Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead manufacturing projects and mentor junior engineers.
  • Experience with consumer goods or toys is an asset but not mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Expertise in CAD (reading/editing), DFMA, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Proven track record in developing cost-effective, innovative solutions for manufacturing challenges.
  • Expertise in process improvement documentation
  • Fluency in English Spanish (written and spoken); additional languages like Mandarin are an asset.
