Your role at Baxter

The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive supplier relationships, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply and service needs, and overseeing the purchasing team’s daily activities. The manager must effectively manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes, demonstrate excellent leadership skills, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and internal metrics to meet corporate and site goals.

The manager also acts as a mentor and coach for the purchasing staff and contributes to team development.

What you'll be doing
  • Develop and maintain purchasing strategies, manage daily activities, supervise staff, allocate tasks, and ensure achievement of internal metrics and goals.

  • Manage supplier relations, negotiate contracts, prices, and timelines; maintain supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.

  • Coordinate with inventory control and purchasing teams to determine and manage inventory needs, maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet DIOH and inventory turnover goals.

  • Ensure raw materials meet quality standards and specifications; execute daily activities based on documented procedures; ensure team completes all required training.

  • Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets, focusing on inventory projections and PPV budgets.

  • Work on improving purchasing systems and processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and implementing action plans for process enhancements.

  • Update dashboards with internal metrics to monitor trends and audit team performance.

  • Supervise the procurement of services and MROs required for operations.

  • Maintain effective communication internally and externally through meetings with team members, other departments, and suppliers.

  • Participate in meetings with management to review plant performance, metrics, escalate critical issues, and communicate potential supply risks.

What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or equivalent.

  • Five or more years of experience in supply chain or manufacturing processes, with supervisory experience in supply chain functions such as purchasing, inventory, and supply chain management; proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; strong understanding of modern ERP/MRP platforms.

  • Advanced English language skills.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, confidentiality, and ability to handle rapidly changing information and priorities.
