Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Senior Manager, Operational Excellence (OPEX) to lead the plant's strategy and execution of Lean and continuous improvement initiatives. The role focuses on productivity, cost reduction, and sustainable performance improvements aligned with the financial plan.

You will drive the Carrier Excellence framework and SWAT-style initiatives across Manufacturing, Operations, Maintenance, IE, Quality, and Finance.

About the role

As a Senior Manager, Operational Excellence (OPEX), you will lead the Operational Excellence strategy and execution for the manufacturing site, driving productivity, Lean transformation, continuous improvement, and Carrier Excellence initiatives.

You will play a key role in ensuring productivity projects and Lean activities are aligned with the plant's financial plan and effectively executed to deliver sustainable improvements in cost, efficiency, quality, and overall operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, Operational Excellence (OPEX), you'll be responsible for:

• Leading the plant's Operational Excellence strategy and productivity initiatives, ensuring alignment and execution against operational and financial objectives.
• Driving Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events, waste reduction, process optimization, and cost improvement.
• Leading plant transformation initiatives, including layout optimization, process redesign, workflow improvements, and process documentation.
• Driving the implementation and sustainability of Carrier Excellence tools and methodologies, including risk assessments and performance metrics.
• Leading the alignment, prioritization, and execution of plant SWAT (Strategic Weapons and Tactics) initiatives, partnering cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Operations, Maintenance, Industrial Engineering, Quality, and Finance.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
• 7 a 10 years of relevant experience leading Lean, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or manufacturing transformation initiatives.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of operations, manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial processes.
• Demonstrated experience leading productivity, Lean, Kaizen, cost reduction, and process optimization initiatives.
• Advanced English proficiency, valid U.S. visa, and availability to travel approximately 10%.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent Lean/Continuous Improvement certification.
• Experience with Carrier Excellence or a similar Operational Excellence operating system.
• Experience leading plant transformation initiatives and connecting productivity projects with financial results and cost savings.
