Subsea7 in Mérida Mexico is seeking an experienced Customs Compliance professional to lead imports/exports, IMMEX programs, and regulatory certifications. You will ensure accurate documentation, maintain records, and support audits while coordinating with brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory authorities.

The role demands a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years in customs compliance, with solid knowledge of Mexican laws, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, customs, logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in customs compliance or related disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of Mexican Customs Law, IMMEX regulations, and foreign trade regulations.
  • Experience with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government authorities.
  • Strong understanding of import/export documentation and processes.
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance reviews.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsabilidades

  • Manage customs compliance activities related to imports, exports, temporary imports, and special programs.
  • Maintain compliance with IMMEX programs and other government certifications.
  • Ensure accurate customs documentation, record retention, and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor customs, trade regulation changes, and assess operational impacts.
  • Support tariff classification, country of origin verification, and trade agreement compliance.
  • Maintain customs inventory records and perform reconciliations between customs, physical, and system inventories.
  • Prepare responses to customs, tax, finance, and internal audit requests.
  • Identify compliance risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and maintain customs compliance procedures, controls, and training programs for internal stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

What experience would we like you to have?
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Customs, Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Law, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Customs Compliance, International Trade, Import/Export Operations, or related disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of Mexican Customs Law, IMMEX regulations, and Foreign Trade Regulations.
  • Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government authorities.
  • Strong understanding of import/export documentation and customs processes.
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance reviews.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency, with effective written and verbal communication skills.
