About the role:

Main Responsibilities:

• Drive value through strategic initiatives and contribute to projects and agreements that could bring benefits and efficiencies to the business.
• Support the Tequila & Mezcal Legal Director in monitoring litigations, legal spend, and managing the legal budget.
• Provide legal counsel on diverse matters related to the Tequila & Mezcal business, including corporate, financial, tax, regulatory, and contractual issues.
• Perform effective risk assessments for the Tequila & Mezcal business.
• Guarantee legal protection to the business.
• Promote a safer, beneficial, and just legal framework before authorities.
• Deliver a legal framework that safeguards Diageo’s reputation as a trusted and respected company.
• Negotiate contracts, documents, and positions representing the Tequila & Mezcal business.

Qualifications:

• Essential

• Bachelor's in Law with at least 10 years of experience.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Strong communication and public relations skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Proficient in Commercial, Public, Administrative, Corporate, and Tax Law.
• Excellent legal defense strategy skills.
• Strong analytical skills, especially in complex situations requiring prompt solutions.
• Honest, confident, and with a strong personality.

• Desirable

• Postgraduate degree in corporate, administrative, or tax law.
