Position Overview

At Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc., we are seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician for our New Innovation Center in Nuevo Leon. This role involves performing standard and non-standard tests related to home and security products, operating and maintaining test equipment, documenting results, and collaborating with engineers to analyze data. The Senior Lab Technician also mentors and trains team members as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform standard and non-standard tests related to home and security products.
  • Document all testing results in detailed test reports and collaborate with engineers for data analysis.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment following instructions, monitor equipment, and ensure test specimens meet specifications.
  • Build new test configurations using existing equipment to meet testing requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of certification and testing requirements for plumbing and security products.
  • Work directly with project engineers and team members, providing technical support and service promptly.
  • Proficiently use hand tools, design test fixtures, and fabricate equipment as needed.
  • Modify computer programs to operate test equipment, including programmable logic controllers.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Mentor and train team members as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical Engineering Technology is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering lab or test environment.
  • Experience in product testing, preferably consumer products.
  • Knowledge of electronic/electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers, computer control, and data acquisition systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and tasks.
