Elsevier Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications powering healthcare products. You will work across microservices and data-intensive platforms in a hybrid model, mentoring engineers and advancing engineering excellence.

You’ll collaborate with product managers and architects to translate requirements into robust software using Java, Node.js, and modern frameworks.

Formación

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React).
• Experience with microservices architectures and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Cloud expertise with AWS (ECS/Fargate, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS) and IaC (Terraform).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and modern delivery practices.
• Familiarity with API gateways and auth (OAuth, JWT, Kong/Keycloak).
• Strong testing (TDD) and observability (New Relic, OpenTelemetry, Grafana).
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications and services.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Refine requirements and write detailed technical specs for complex systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Implement and enforce development processes, coding standards, and reviews.
• Design complex data models ensuring scalability and performance.
