Job summary

Steelcase is seeking an experienced design leader to translate client needs into strategic design solutions for large, high-profile accounts. You will guide projects from concept through implementation, balancing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.

In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with sales, engineering, dealers, architects, and designers to deliver outcomes that align with customer goals and Steelcase’s standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• 3–4 years of experience in interior design, workplace design, or a related design field as a fulltime.
• Experience working directly with customers and presenting design solutions.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating competing priorities.
• Experience leading design efforts for large, complex, or strategic client accounts.
• Strong listening skills with the ability to translate customer needs into thoughtful design solutions.
• Experience creating presentations, design documentation, standards, and client-facing deliverables.
• Ability to build strong relationships and establish credibility with clients, sales teams, dealers, and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and strategic product selection for large, high-profile client accounts.
• Manage multiple complex projects from concept through implementation, balancing quality and timelines.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, dealers, architects, designers, and cross-functional partners to deliver successful outcomes.
• Influence business decisions through thoughtful design recommendations and customer-focused solutions.
• Develop design documentation, presentations, standards, and training materials for execution across teams.
• Identify risks, solve complex challenges, and create innovative solutions for evolving needs.
