Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to architect, build, and automate global infrastructure spanning on‑prem data centers and cloud environments. You will define technical direction, mentor engineers, and own systems that run our large-scale operations.

Required are 5+ years in infrastructure, strong Linux and networking expertise, IaC tooling (Terraform/Ansible/Puppet), and production cloud experience (GCP/AWS). Excellent English and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure or systems engineering with production responsibilities.
• Experience remote managing physical hardware at colocation facilities.
• Extensive Linux administration experience (Red Hat/Debian) at scale.
• Practical networking knowledge (Cisco, DNS, load balancing, traffic management).
• Experience with enterprise storage and backup systems.
• Proven automation of infrastructure using Ansible, Puppet, or similar tools.
• Proficient in Python for tooling and automation.
• Production cloud experience (GCP, AWS) including IAM, storage, and Compute Engine.
• Ability to lead infrastructure projects and mentor engineers.
• Excellent English proficiency (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage large-scale, multi-data-center infra across on-prem, GCP, and AWS.
• Drive automation for deployment and configuration management, transitioning to Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Puppet, and Ansible.
• Design and sustain traffic management, load balancing, and DNS systems at scale.
• Build and operate monitoring and observability across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Create tooling for distributed, auditable systems administration.
• Document processes, policies, and procedures for the infra team.
