Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior General Accountant to join their finance department in Mexicali, Baja California, MX, with a hybrid on-site and remote work arrangement.

You will manage the general ledger, prepare financial statements, implement internal controls, oversee payables/receivables, assist budgeting, coordinate with auditors, and ensure compliance with NIF and tax regulations. Fluent Spanish required; English a plus. Automotive sector experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years in general accounting, automotive experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Spanish fluency required; English proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger with timely and accurate recording of transactions.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure data integrity and asset protection.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and cash flow management.
• Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting with variance analysis.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting function.
• Ensure compliance with NIF and tax regulations.
• Support senior management with financial analysis and ad-hoc projects.
• Maintain relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders.
