Employment Hero is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to balance core development with evolving ownership and collaboration. You will help modernize our Payroll system toward a service-oriented, microservices mixed architecture, following a .Net Core migration.

Key focus areas include end-to-end cloud development, debugging, and proactive process improvements, with strong emphasis on implementing robust APIs and scalable frontend features.

Formación

• Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and services using ASP.NET Core.
• 7+ years of backend development experience with C#, .NET Core/.NET 6+.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL Server, NoSQL).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with ORM frameworks such as NHibernate or Entity Framework.
• Frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React/Angular/Vue.
• Ability to deliver end-to-end features across the full stack.

This Role

Our Partnerships and Payroll team is growing. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will balance core technical development with an evolving approach to features, ownership, and collaborative problem-solving. This role will help us continue the development and modernizing of our Payroll system, where we're on a journey of moving to a service-oriented and microservices mixed architecture, following our .Net Core migration.

Your key focus areas will be:

• End-to-end development for new and current cloud-based applications, from working on the technology roadmap with Product Owners, designing solutions with your squad, new feature development, through to production, improving/ optimizing and maintenance
• Debug and perform root cause analysis for application issues
• Take initiative in recommending improvements to the development process
• Proactively identify application pain points and suggest mitigation strategies
• Perform peer reviews of code changes
• Perform testing of new features/enhancements/bug fixes
• Maintain documentation and help articles for new/updated features
• Provide training sessions for the support team for new features
• Work closely with business stakeholders within an agile environment

For this role, you’ll also bring

Backend experience

• 7+ years of backend development experience with C#, .NET Core/.NET 6+
• Experience at a product-focused startup/scale-up or technology company
• Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and services using ASP.NET Core
• Experience working with event-driven architectures and messaging systems
• Strong ability to write modular, reusable, and testable code that adheres to best practices
• Solid understanding of both relational (e.g., SQL Server) and non-relational (e.g., NoSQL) databases
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows
• Experience with ORM frameworks, such as NHibernate or Entity Framework
• Experience with dependency injection frameworks, such as Castle Windsor, Autofac, or Ninject
• Frontend experience
• Experience building user interfaces with JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
• Understanding of frontend architecture, component design, and state management
• Ability to write clean, accessible, and responsive UI code
• Comfortable working across the full stack to deliver end-to-end features
