Job Description

Under the supervision of the Plant Controller, the candidate will analyze main financial variances (inventory, cycle counts, Budget/plan vs actuals, Monthly FCST vs Budget, vs Actuals). The role serves as the official backup for the Controller and oversees the payroll process for the Mexican legal entity, which includes two business units.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Acting Controller and supervise the Finance Department in the Controller's absence.
  • Prepare Annual Budget with Plant Staff.
  • Prepare Monthly Forecast with Plant Staff.
  • Analyze expense variances (Budget vs Actual, PE vs Actual, YOY comparisons).
  • Review and validate Cost Reductions in progress and proposed.
  • Manage Month End Close, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support Controller in developing and maintaining Internal Controls for Finance, IT, and Customs teams.
  • Lead Department Record Retention.
  • Set up vendors in Oracle for BU Cold Chain Chihuahua.
  • Administer vendor contracts, manage templates, review with Legal, and ensure vendor and legal review completion.
  • Prepare and submit Tower Watson accruals for USGAAP and MEXGAAP.
  • Assist HR with reports and analysis for annual General Wage Increase.
  • Participate in treasury processes, including vendor payments, payroll, taxes, and positive pay for checks.
  • Generate Monthly Dashboards/KPIs reports.
  • Supervise payroll activities, including weekly audits, special payouts, and compliance with calculations for bonuses, profit sharing, and taxes.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations.
Authority
  • Ensure compliance with Payroll, taxes, and trade regulations.
  • Approve bank payments and checks.
  • Prepare Budget and forecasts.
  • Create and update vendors in Oracle.
  • Review and approve payroll.
Basic Requirements
  • Public Accountant degree or Bachelor's in Business Administration, with 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in Budgeting, Forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • At least three years of payroll supervision experience.
  • Strong knowledge of labor and tax law.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP).
  • Fluent in English (80%).
  • Strong skills in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and payroll systems (TRESS and ADP preferred).
  • This position is fully onsite; remote or hybrid options are not available.
