Job summary

AutoZone is seeking an Environmental Compliance Lead to manage permits for new and existing stores across jurisdictions. You will oversee permitting, audits, and budget control, coordinating with Legal, Real Estate, Finance, Maintenance and Operations to ensure uninterrupted store operations.

The role requires a background in environmental engineering and a track record in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance, with strong project management skills and vendor oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental/chemical or industrial engineering.
• Five to seven years of relevant experience in environmental management.
• Knowledge of environmental studies and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Renew environmental permits for stores and monitor compliance.
• Coordinate with federal, state and municipal authorities during inspections.
• Prepare and maintain environmental procedures and budgets.
• Manage relationships with environmental consulting firms and vendors.
• Support store managers and departments in environmental matters.
• Create compliance matrices and track permit renewals by store.
