Senior Director of Cloud Architecture and Engineering

The Mission

We are seeking a talented Senior Director to lead our Cloud Engineering practice. This Practice Leader will be responsible for guiding, expanding, and evolving our cloud engineering services. The role involves setting the technical vision, establishing best practices, and ensuring successful delivery of cloud solutions for enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS, strong business acumen, and leadership skills to manage a large, diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities

1. Practice Leadership: Define and execute the strategic vision for the Cloud Engineering Practice, aligning with company goals and AWS best practices.
2. Technical Excellence: Promote industry-leading methodologies, frameworks, and architectures for cloud-native solutions.
3. People Management: Lead and mentor a team of over 200 cloud engineers, architects, and consultants, fostering innovation and continuous learning.
4. Delivery Excellence: Oversee the execution of cloud engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
5. AWS Partnership: Strengthen collaboration with AWS, leveraging the latest technologies and programs to enhance service offerings.
6. Business Growth: Support pre-sales activities, contribute to go-to-market strategies, and drive revenue by aligning technical capabilities with business opportunities.
7. Innovation & Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of industry trends, drive innovation, and represent Caylent at conferences, webinars, and AWS events.
8. AI & Emerging Technologies: Lead the development and deployment of AI-powered cloud solutions.

Your Qualifications

1. 15+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a professional services company.
2. Proven experience scaling a cloud engineering practice, preferably within an AWS-focused services firm.
3. Deep expertise in AWS services, architectures, and best practices.
4. Strong background in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and cloud security.
5. Ability to drive business outcomes, manage budgets, and align technical efforts with revenue goals.
6. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
7. Experience working with enterprise clients across various industries.

Preferred Qualifications

1. AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional).
2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
3. Additional certifications such as Kubernetes or HashiCorp are a plus.
