EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Database Engineer to design and optimize large-scale Cassandra-based data systems. You will plan deployments, configure clusters, and monitor performance across critical business operations.

The role requires deep NoSQL experience, Cassandra internals knowledge, and strong data modeling skills. Familiarity with AWS services and CI/CD is a plus; English fluency is essential for collaborating with global teams.

Formación

• 3+ years hands-on experience with Cassandra or other NoSQL systems.
• Experience with data modeling and Cassandra keyspaces, tables, and indexes.
• Familiarity with Linux/Java environments and Cassandra internals (gossip, read repair, Hinted Handoff).
• Exposure to Astra or AWS Keyspaces is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
• Strong English communication to translate business requirements into architectures.

Responsabilidades

• Plan Cassandra cluster deployments by estimating data volume and load.
• Set up and configure Cassandra clusters from scratch.
• Monitor cluster availability and performance with OpsCenter/DevCenter.
• Export data for downstream use and manage indexing for queries.
• Backup and restore procedures to protect data integrity.
• Tune JVM, caching, and compaction for optimal performance.
• Run stress tests and analyze performance results.

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join our team. This role offers the chance to work on complex data systems that support critical business operations at scale.
