Spin Careers in Mexico is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead design, implementation, optimization, and management of advanced database infrastructures. You will ensure high availability, data integrity, scalability, and optimal performance while mentoring data and platform engineering teams.

The role emphasizes automation of operations, governance enhancements, and collaboration to drive strategic initiatives and adoption of new database technologies.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in Database Administration or Data Infrastructure Engineering.
• Deep understanding of database concepts, normalization, indexing, distributed systems, and modern data architecture.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB and other NoSQL solutions; cloud services (AWS RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, GCP Cloud SQL); and automation via IaC/scripting.
• Advanced problem-solving, query optimization, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; ability to mentor junior engineers.
• Strong strategic thinking, architectural vision, and decision-making abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Lead automation of database provisioning, patching, backups, and deployments.
• Design and implement advanced monitoring and performance tuning solutions.
• Oversee architecture, replication, sharding, and scalability of database clusters.
• Respond to major incidents, diagnose bottlenecks, and resolve data issues.
• Design and test disaster recovery, high-availability, and backup/restore policies.
• Implement data protection measures—encryption, access controls, masking, auditing—in line with standards.
• Provide technical guidance to teams on data modeling and adoption of new technologies.
